MALKERNS – Cowboy hats are finding their moment, boots are stepping into the spotlight and denim is making its statement as crowd at the Eswatini Farmers Market turn the venue into a celebration of Wild West fashion.
Taking place today, Saturday, October 10, at Malkerns Country Club, the fifth edition of the Eswatini Farmers Market is bringing its theme, “LOOK LIKE A COWBOY,” to life, with attendees embracing the challenge of dressing the part and making fashion a central feature of the festival experience.
For many, attending Farmers Market is about more than securing a ticket, finding friends and enjoying the entertainment. It is also an opportunity to express personal style, experiment with a different look and become part of the atmosphere. This year, the cowboy theme gives revellers a creative invitation to trade their everyday outfits for Western-inspired fashion.
From cowboy hats and boots to denim pieces and statement accessories, the theme encourages festivalgoers to put thought into their appearance and bring their own interpretation of cowboy culture to Malkerns.

The result is a fashion moment that gives the audience a role beyond watching the performances. The people attending become part of the spectacle, adding personality, colour and character to an event built around music, fashion, arts, food and lifestyle.
What makes the theme exciting is the freedom it offers. There is no single way to interpret a cowboy look. Some can lean towards the classic Western appearance, while others can add a modern fashion twist through carefully selected accessories, coordinated denim and bold styling choices.
For fashion lovers, it is an opportunity to show that dressing for a theme does not mean losing one’s individuality. Instead, it creates room to be playful, confident and creative while still making the look personal.
The dress code also adds another layer to the entertainment experience. Beyond the music stages and the festival activities, the outfits create moments worth capturing, sharing and remembering. For those who enjoy documenting their experiences on social media, the cowboy-inspired looks provide plenty of room for photographs, fashion content and conversations about who interpreted the theme in the most creative way.
The theme was previously announced by Farmers Market founder and director Mbekezile “Culolam” Dlamini, who confirmed that the 2026 edition would carry the instruction, “LOOK LIKE A COWBOY.”
The idea is simple: attendees should not merely hear about the theme but participate in it. By dressing accordingly, they help transform the event from an ordinary outing into a shared lifestyle experience.
As music lovers gather for performances from local and South African acts, including Zee Nxumalo, Oscar Mbo, Jnr SA, Argento Dust and Royal Musiq, fashion remains an important part of the day’s identity. The festival brings together different interests, allowing music, style, food and social experiences to meet in one place.
Ultimately, the cowboy theme gives Farmers Market a distinctive visual identity while celebrating the confidence and creativity of its audience. It also reminds revellers that fashion is not only about what is worn, but about the attitude, imagination and personality behind the outfit.
Today in Malkerns, the message is clear: do not simply attend Farmers Market — arrive ready to make a statement.
The Wild West has arrived in Eswatini, and the revellers are dressing the part.
