MBABANE– The Eswatini National Fire and Emergency Service (ENFRES) held a departmental prayer service today to seek divine guidance and promote unity among staff members. The gathering took place at the ENFRES Auditorium and was attended by fire personnel from across the country, including senior management, fire officers, and support staff.
Themed from 1 Kings 18:41, the event aimed to inspire hope and reinforce the team spirit required in their line of work. In his address, Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Luke Lushaba began by expressing gratitude to the entire team for their continued efforts and dedication to saving lives and protecting property. He encouraged them to keep up the hard work and strive for even greater commitment in their duties.

Lushaba emphasized the importance of working together, saying that unity within the department was key to achieving their common goals. “There should be no division among us. We must support one another and work in unity to fulfill our mission,” he said.
He reminded staff that firefighting is not just a profession, but a calling that requires strong teamwork, perseverance, and faith. He highlighted that regardless of rank or department, every team member plays a vital role in serving the nation during emergencies.
The prayer service included spiritual reflections and collective prayers focused on various issues affecting the department. Special prayers were also offered for the successful planning and execution of this year’s upcoming Fire Day event.

Drawing inspiration from Acts 2:42, Lushaba urged the team to remain steadfast in the face of daily workplace challenges, reminding them that the service was not just for leadership or special events, but for the entire ENFRES family.
The event closed with a powerful message of faith, echoing the phrase: “When Jesus says yes, nobody can say no,” reflecting a shared belief in divine guidance through uncertain times.
The service aimed to boost morale, encourage unity, and remind staff of their shared purpose in serving the people of Eswatini.
