MBABANE – Former Prime Minister Prince Mabandla encourages unity at Cabinet.
This is according to Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini. On March 7, 2025, the country’s third prime minister met the current premier when he paid a courtesy visit to the latter at the Private and Cabinet Offices in Mbabane.
According to Dlamini, it was a profound honour to receive a courtesy visit from HRH Prince Mabandla.
As Eswatini’s third Prime Minister post-independence (serving from November 1979 to March 1983), Dlamini said HRH remained a pillar of wisdom and experience. At over 90 years of age, his sharp intellect, humour, and vibrant spirit continue to inspire Emaswati, according to the prime minister.
He said engaging in conversation with HRH was truly humbling. “He shared invaluable words of wisdom and encouraged us, as Cabinet, to serve with diligence and dedication – reminding us that the Nation’s progress rests upon our collective commitment,” Dlamini said.
He said it was touching to listen to the former prime minister share how, like all other Prime Ministers before me, he prayed for the Cabinet to succeed in this national assignment. Prince Mabandla’s visit and words of wisdom reinforced the truth in Job 12:12 that: “Wisdom belongs to the aged, and understanding to the old.”
“May HRH live longer and continue to inspire current and future generations,” the prime minister concluded.
