MBABANE – He grew up with little, but today his wardrobe tells a different story, with “Degree” labels filling his closet as he prepares to turn his struggles, dreams and experiences into music.
As4JerryP is set to release his highly anticipated debut album, Libhungu Lemhlolo, on Friday, 28 August 2026, following an exclusive listening session held at Yini Loku Art Centre in Mbabane on 21 August.
The project marks an important milestone for the young Eswatini artist, who used the listening session to give invited guests a first taste of the album while sharing the story behind his journey.
For As4JerryP, however, Libhungu Lemhlolo is about more than music. It is a reflection of where he comes from, where he is now and the dreams he continues to chase.
The artist revealed that his journey was not built from privilege. He grew up with little, but refused to allow his circumstances to determine his destination.
“Growing up, I had nothing, but now my wardrobe is full of Degree label clothing,” he said.
The statement captured the transformation behind his story – from dreaming with empty pockets to becoming an artist able to celebrate the fruits of his persistence.
Beyond his personal journey, As4JerryP used the platform to encourage young people not to abandon their dreams when circumstances become difficult.
He urged the youth to remain focused, work towards their goals and believe that their current situation does not define their future.
The album listening session brought together music lovers and industry figures, including Lyrikal Busta, who congratulated the artist as anticipation built around the debut project.
ESWACOS Director Mmeli Hlanze also congratulated As4JerryP on reaching the album milestone while encouraging artists to register their creative projects so they can protect their work and benefit from their rights and royalties.
Guests were taken through the album track by track, including track eight, Lolomntfwana Nami, while As4JerryP also explained the meaning behind the title Libhungu Lemhlolo and the experiences that shaped the project.
Hosted by Mainstream and supported by Upscale Live, ESWACOS and Motion Skies Pictures, the listening session provided a glimpse into what fans can expect when the full album drops.
With the release date now set for 28 August, As4JerryP is preparing to move from an emerging voice to an artist with a debut body of work carrying his story.
From growing up with nothing to filling his wardrobe with “Degree” labels, his message is clear: the beginning of a journey does not have to determine its ending.
