MBABANE– Strength is not only built in the gym but also through compassion and community spirit. This message came alive when the renowned fitness group Go Hard or Go Home celebrated its fifth anniversary by giving back to women and children at the Mawelawela Correctional Centre.

On Saturday October 18,2025 the outreach brought together members of the Matsapha community and female officers from Eswatini’s three security forces, all united by a shared vision of empowerment. The atmosphere was filled with hope and gratitude as the team handed over gifts and essential supplies to the inmates, reinforcing that no one is ever forgotten.

Speaking during the event, Assistant Superintendent David “Sfuba” Dlamini, founder of Go Hard or Go Home, said the initiative forms part of their commitment to using fitness as a force for good. “We understand that government resources are stretched, and there are many competing needs, especially concerning women. As a fitness family of over 120 strong and dedicated members, we believe our strength should not only be seen in our workouts but also reflected through compassion, generosity, and service,” he said.

He further explained that choosing Mawelawela Correctional Centre as the first stop of their outreach was not by chance. “As the saying goes, charity begins at home. Mawelawela represents home for many women who are on a journey of transformation, and we wanted to remind them that society still cares and believes in their potential,” Dlamini added.

Moreover, the event coincided with Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a period that celebrates women’s strength and resilience. This added special meaning to the gesture, as participants not only promoted physical well-being but also encouraged emotional healing and solidarity.

As the day ended, laughter and heartfelt appreciation filled the air. The Go Hard or Go Home team left more than gifts behind they left a lasting message of love, dignity, and renewal.

Their actions served as a reminder that when communities come together, compassion can transform lives and strengthen the social fabric of Eswatini.
