MBABANE – The country will be represented by Mbabane Golf Club golfers Nosmilo Kgomo and Kaylah Zwane at the All-Africa Ladies Challenge Golf Tournament, which will be held in Windhoek, Namibia.

The duo was bid farewell by members of the Mbabane Golf Club on Sunday.

The tournament, featuring seven countries, will take place from March 31 to April 3, 2025, at the Windhoek Country Club and Casino. Nosmilo and Kaylah will compete against top female golfers from countries including South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana, Lesotho, Zambia, and Angola (with confirmation expected soon).

According to igamingtoday.com, the All-Africa Ladies Challenge Trophy was inaugurated as a biennial golf championship for African women in May 1992 in Zimbabwe. It was proposed by Tessa Covell, the former president of the Zambia Ladies Golf Union, who recognised the need for a dedicated training ground to enhance the skills of female golfers. The tournament format involves selecting a unique host nation for each edition.

This event aims to promote sportsmanship and foster the growth of golf across the continent. In related news, Nigeria has won the bid to host the tournament in 2026 for the third time. Consequently, the next edition will take place in Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory of Nigeria, with at least thirty countries expected to participate.

Mbabane Golf Club has urged the nation to rally behind the players and provide them with robust support.
