MAYIWANE – The Ministry of Tinkhundla Administration and Development has officially handed over a tractor and farming implements valued at E1.5 million to Sakhakwetfu Magengeni Multipurpose Cooperative Society in Mayiwane Inkhundla.

The equipment, financed through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), is intended to support income-generating agricultural activities and enhance food production at both subsistence and commercial levels.

Speaking at the handover, Minister S’khumbuzo Dlamini described the initiative as a practical demonstration of government’s commitment to rural development and poverty reduction.

“The RDF has become a crucial instrument in bringing development directly to our communities, ensuring that no one is left behind,” he said.

He commended the cooperative for completing the project within a short timeframe and praised members for contributing additional infrastructure including an office, toilets and perimeter fencing.

“This project is community-driven, and its successful implementation shows that His Majesty’s Government is responding to the real needs of the people,” the Minister said.

He encouraged young people and persons with disabilities to take advantage of the RDF to start sustainable, income-generating projects that promote self-reliance.

The Mayiwane handover follows a series of RDF-funded project launches across the country, reinforcing the ministry’s ongoing support for grassroots economic empowerment.
