HIGHLANDERS, SISONKHE TO DEBUT ON ESWATINI TV AS MTN LEAGUE GOES LIVE

MBABANE – Exciting news for football enthusiasts as they will now have the opportunity to watch some selected MTN Premier League matches live on Eswatini TV.

The inaugural match to be broadcast live will feature Mbabane Highlanders against Sisonkhe, taking place at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium on Sunday, kick-off 3pm.

Sibusiso ‘Scorpion’ Nxumalo, Vice Chairman of the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE), announced on Tuesday that they are currently piloting this initiative. He expressed that this venture will significantly enhance the visibility of local football and its players on an international scale.

“We are thrilled to inform the public that football will now be more accessible through Eswatini TV. We are commencing this pilot project with a selection of matches to be broadcast live,” he stated.

Nxumalo emphasised that this initiative will enable a global audience to witness the games, thereby promoting the players and encouraging local businesses to lend their support.

“The first match will be between Mbabane Highlanders and Sisonkhe FC on Sunday at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium. This marks the beginning of an exciting journey, and we hope to expand this project in the future. We are in the process of finalising our partnership with Eswatini TV,” he added.

He noted that, for the time being; only a limited number of matches will be selected for live broadcasting. Nxumalo concluded by asserting that this project will undoubtedly bolster the development of local football.
