MBABANE – Imbali preparing to leave their homes tomorrow for the Umhlanga Reed Dance have been urged to bring their Identity Documents details for registration, with the Ministry of Home Affairs advising them to leave their original identity documents at home and instead carry a copy or the ID number written on a piece of paper to prevent loss.
Ministry of Home Affairs Communications Officer Mlandvo Dlamini said identification details will be required during registration, urging parents and guardians to ensure Imbali have the necessary information before leaving home.
He warned against carrying the original Ids, saying they could easily be misplaced during the Umhlanga journey and activities.
Dlamini said parents and guardians can write the Imbali’s ID number on a piece of paper or provide a copy of the original document.
He also urged Imbali to be punctual tomorrow, as transport will be provided from their respective chiefdoms to designated pick-up points, where they will board buses to Ludzidzini Royal Residence.
According to Dlamini, the transport will arrive at the chiefdoms at 8am, making it important for Imbali to be at their respective chiefdoms on time.
“The transport to take them from their chiefdoms is provided. Please be on time,” Dlamini said.
The arrangements are aimed at ensuring a smooth and organised departure for Imbali as they prepare to participate in the annual Umhlanga Reed Dance.
