MBABANE – The four teams that have advanced to the semi-finals of the prestigious Ingwenyama Cup are guaranteed a cash prize of at least E225,000 each.
The semi-finalists—Royal Leopard, Young Buffaloes, Mbabane Swallows, and Moneni Pirates—clinched their spots following thrilling victories over the weekend.
The draw for the semi-finals is yet to be confirmed, with the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) expected to make an official announcement soon.
Prize Breakdown
According to the tournament’s financial structure, the four semi-finalists will share a total of E450,000. Meanwhile, the runners-up will walk away with E650,000, while the ultimate champions will claim a whopping E1.45 million.
In the quarter-finals:
Royal Leopard edged past Ezulwini United with a narrow 1-0 victory.
Young Buffaloes showcased their dominance with a resounding 5-1 triumph over Illovo.
Mbabane Swallows overcame Lozitha Spurs in a closely contested 3-2 battle.
Moneni Pirates secured their semi-final berth in a tense penalty shootout, defeating Manzini Sea Birds 5-4.
Consolation Prizes for Quarter-Finalists
The four teams eliminated in the quarter-finals—Illovo, Manzini Sea Birds, Lozitha Spurs, and Ezulwini United—will each receive E75,000, bringing the total payout for this stage to E300,000.
Additionally, Lozitha Spurs, the only National First Division team to reach the quarter-finals, will receive an extra E30,000 for being the highest-ranked team from outside the top-flight league.
