MBABANE – By Sunday evening, the stage will be set for the final eight teams to continue their journey in the prestigious Ingwenyama Cup. The tournament, now in its last 16 phase, promises high-stakes action as teams vie for a lucrative E1,450,000 prize.

This weekend’s fixtures bring exciting matchups, including a much-anticipated clash between Green Mamba and Royal Leopard at Mayaluka Stadium. The defending champions, Green Mamba, face Royal Leopard in a rematch after their goalless draw earlier this month. Kick-off is set for 3 PM. With players like Sabelo ‘Sikhali’ Ndzinisa and Felix Badenhorst, both prominent figures in Sihlangu, this game is bound to deliver drama and intensity.

Rangers, representing the Shiselweni Region, are set to host Moneni Pirates at King Sobhuza III Memorial Stadium, kicking off at 3:30 PM. The Pirates narrowly edged out Rangers in their last encounter, with a 1-0 win. Rangers, having joined the elite league two seasons ago, have shown they are not just participants but fierce competitors. Moneni Pirates, under the new leadership of Director Thulani Xaba, are strong contenders for the title.

Other matches include Pigg’s Peak Rangers taking on Young Buffaloes at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre and Lozitha Spurs, fresh off their surprise victory against Mbabane Highlanders, battling Madlenya. Nkwene Sundowns will play against Manzini Sea Birds, while Illovo squares off against Sisonkhe.

Sunday’s double-header at Mavuso Sports Centre will feature Ezulwini United versus Red Rhinos at 1:30 PM, followed by CK Survivors facing Mbabane Swallows at 6 PM.

With every team striving to secure a spot in the quarter-finals, fans can expect thrilling performances as the tournament progresses. The question remains: which teams will rise to the occasion and remain in contention?
