MBABANE – Eswatini international player Justice Figareido was among the scorers of penalties to send his team, Richards Bay to the semi-finals of the Carling Knockout Cup.

They will face Magesi in the semi-finals with dates and venue yet to be confirmed. Richards reached the semi-final with a 5-4 win after penalties having played a goalless draw against Cape Town City in the regular time at King Zwelithini Stadium on Sunday.

The former Denver Sundowns player started the match as a substituted and he was introduced in the second half of the games. He was the part of the players who were selected to take the penalties after extra time and he scored with ease.

Richards Bay will also face Orlando Pirate son Tuesday in the Betway Premiership. The match will be played at Orlando Stadium, kick-off 7:30pm.

The other semi-final will feature Mamelodi Sundowns against Marumo Gallants.

Figareido is the only player playing in the Betway Premiership in South Africa.

He was part of the National team, Sihlangu that played Mozambique on back to back games last month during the African Cup of Nations (AFCON) Qualifiers. He is set to be out of the team next week as Sihlangu Coach Zdravko Logurusic said he won’t be calling up intentional players for the Guinea Bissau and Mali games.
