ROME, ITALY – His Majesty the King is the best ambassador the country has ever had.
This was the view of Commerce Industry and Trade Minister Manqoba Khumalo on Monday after he delivered the keynote speech at the 4th World Food Forum (WFF) at the FAO Headquarters here.
Khumalo said it was exciting to see His Majesty the King delivering the keynote speech at the forum which included other leaders like Lesotho’s King Letsie III, Liberia President Joseph Boakai, Burma Prime Minister, WTO Director General Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala and FAO Executive Director Dr Qu Dongyu to name just a few.
“Very exciting that His Majesty the King was speaking and headlining the opening event. This has put the Kingdom of Eswatini on the global map and entices businesspeople who have already been invited to the business forum on Wednesday.
“The King is the best ambassador for the country, and we expect his address to whet their appetite so much that it improves participation in our business forum,” the Commerce Industry and Trade minister said.
His Majesty the King is in Italy for the WFF and will hold several bilateral meetings with various leaders, including Pope Francis in the Vatican later in the week.
