KING HANDS OVER E15 MILLION WORTH OF PROJECTS TO MADLANGEMPISI COOPERATIVES

MADLANGEMPISI – His Majesty King Mswati III has handed over projects worth E15 million to 12 cooperatives under Madlangempisi Inkhundla, marking yet another milestone in the nation’s economic empowerment initiatives. The projects, funded through the Regional Development Fund (RDF), include trucks, tractors, farming implements, a feedlot, and animal feed, which are set to transform agricultural productivity and livelihoods in the region.

A total of 1,600 emaSwati are expected to benefit from these projects, further strengthening the country’s cooperative movement. His Majesty praised the cooperatives for their professionalism and efficiency in financial management, highlighting their ability to generate substantial dividends. He made reference to one cooperative that has achieved E44 million in annual dividends, demonstrating the sector’s potential in fostering economic self-sufficiency.

Beyond economic development, His Majesty also reaffirmed his commitment to improving the living conditions of the elderly. As part of a long-term national initiative, he announced plans to construct 10 decent homes for elderly residents of Madlangempisi, with a promise to expand this program across the country in the coming years.

His Majesty’s vision for economic growth and social upliftment through cooperative development and community welfare initiatives continues to bear fruit, ensuring a brighter and more sustainable future for the people of Eswatini.
