MBABANE – The Municipal Council of Manzini under their Integrated Development Plan has launched a knock-out soccer tournament.
The tournament will see the wards competing for great prizes and the games would be played at the Zakhele Sports Ground, starting on Saturday 9March 29, 2025). The tournament was launched on Monday at the council’s offices.
“In a first for the City of Manzini, the Municipal Council of Manzini has launched a community knockout soccer tournament as part of delivery of the 2024-2030 Integrated Development Plan. Watch all 12 Municipal wards compete for the first prize. Games run from 9am to 5pm; and entrance is free.
Residents are encouraged to come out in their numbers, support their teams and enjoy electrifying soccer displayed by talented youngsters from the various city communities.
Informal traders and companies interested in selling or showcasing their products or services can register with the Municipality’s Community Services Department. The next instalment of the community sports tournaments will feature other sporting codes so that no one is left out,” reads a statement.
