MBOMBELA –Eswatini’s Leebombo ready to ignite Mbombela Stadium Restaurant Arena stage.
Eswatini-born vocalist Leebombo is set to shine at the “One Night with Phumla Music and Friends” concert on Saturday, 26 July 2025, at the Mbombela Stadium Restaurant Arena, marking a new chapter after three strong years with NewLife Entertainment.
Under the theme “Touching Lives Ngemculo,” the concert will feature an impressive lineup of Southern African talent. Headlining is Phumla Angel (Phumla Nkomo), the Barberton sensation currently making waves on Big Brother Mzansi.
Leebombo and Phumla have already built a musical rapport, having shared stages at the Makoti Festival activation in March at the Botanical Gardens in Mbombela and the main festival’s fourth edition in April at Malkerns Country Club. This time, though, Leebombo says the stakes, and the excitement, are even higher.
“Mbombela, expect fire! We’ll dance, move, and sing our hearts out,” she promises.
The night’s stellar lineup includes Nokwazi, Mawelele, Lin Dough, Makhosi, Zamo Dlamini, Olefied Khetha, Xolani Mdlalose, and Frank Mabeat. Hosting duties will be handled by Kede Mkhabela and Siya Mokoena, while the stylish Black Carpet experience will be curated by Princess M and Pillay Mnisi.
Nonhlanhla Vilakati, known to fans as Leebombo, credits her time with NewLife Entertainment since 2022 as transformative:
“Being part of NewLife Entertainment has been a blessing. We work so well together, it truly feels like family,” she says.
Her love for music was born in Maphungwane, Siteki, where she famously used her mother’s roll-on bottle as a microphone. Her natural talent led her from school assemblies and church choirs to the professional stage after being introduced to gospel legend Sipho Makhabane by her high school career guidance teacher Noti Mvakali.
Leebombo’s breakthrough solo moment came at the Swazi Rhythm Launch, where she connected with local stars like Floewe, Nomalungelo Dladla, and Velemiseni. She’s since worked with LCB and performed alongside Mozambican singer Lizha James at the Makoti Festival activation in Mozambique earlier this year, a partnership she hopes to revisit. Her dream collaborators include Inkabi Nation, Blaq Diamond, and Bholoja.
Now, with the backing of her label and an expanding fanbase, Leebombo views her upcoming Mbombela performance as a milestone in her journey:
“It’s not just a performance, it’s a celebration of everything I’ve worked for and what’s still ahead.”
Adding to the excitement, Phumla has hinted that the two may collaborate on an upcoming EP, promising even more for fans to look forward to.
