MADLANGEMPISI- Mzaceni-born rapper and producer Siyabonga Magagula, formerly known as LilbebzTheBest, has officially rebranded as TheAfricanDon.
From the quiet village of Mzaceni in Madlangempisi to the global music stage, TheAfricanDon’s story is one of resilience, ambition, and evolution. Known for fusing Afrobeats, Hip-Hop, Trap, and Soul, the Swazi-born artist has built his career independently, staying true to his sound and vision.
His journey began in high school with the rap group Epic Rap. When the group disbanded, he embarked on a solo path, carving out a style that blends hard-hitting beats with memorable hooks and lyrics rooted in struggle, ambition, and triumph. His 2019 breakthrough single No Rules introduced him as a rising force in the region’s music scene.
Now, after years of performing as LilbebzTheBest, he is turning the page with a new stage name: TheAfricanDon.
“This name change is more than just a rebrand, it’s a reflection of growth, purpose, and identity. TheAfricanDon represents leadership, strength, and a deep-rooted connection to our African heritage,” he shared in his official announcement.
TheAfricanDon’s career has already seen key highlights, including a nomination at the Jumbo Lifestyle Awards for The Next Big Icon. Despite personal challenges, such as the loss of his father and a serious arm injury, he continues to rise, channeling his pain into art that resonates with his audience.
