MBABANE– Former Enjabulweni High School learner, Ncedile Lindelwe Sigwane, has made history after achieving an exceptional seven A symbols and three A* in the 2025 IEB International Examinations, a performance that has stunned the nation and placed Eswatini firmly on the regional academic map.
Her remarkable achievement positions her among the top-performing learners not only in Eswatini but across the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region, earning widespread praise from education authorities and the broader public.
The Ministry of Education and Training formally celebrated Lindelwe’s outstanding results, recognising her academic excellence, leadership qualities and resilience. Officials described her performance as a powerful example of what dedication, discipline and strong support systems can achieve.
Minister of Education and Training, Honourable Owen Nxumalo, commended Lindelwe for her commitment to excellence, describing her results as “an extraordinary accomplishment” and a testament to the potential of Eswatini’s learners.
“Lindelwe was not only an excellent learner but also a leader,” said Minister Nxumalo. “She successfully balanced her academic responsibilities with her role as a prefect, proving that leadership and academic excellence can go hand in hand. Her achievement is an inspiration to learners across the country.”
Beyond the classroom, Lindelwe’s success story is rooted in a strong family and school support system. Her mother, Nonhlanhla Sigwane, expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Ministry of Education and Training, Enjabulweni High School, teachers and extended family for standing by her daughter throughout her academic journey, including during the difficult period following the loss of her husband.
“I always knew Lindelwe was capable,” said Mrs Sigwane. “However, this achievement was still a wonderful surprise. I am grateful to everyone who supported her and believed in her, even during challenging times.”
Lindelwe herself was quick to acknowledge the role played by those around her, emphasising that her success was not achieved in isolation.
“My excellence reflects my support system,” she said. “My family, friends and teachers have been with me through the ups and downs, and I am deeply grateful for their encouragement and belief in me.”
As she prepares to begin the next chapter of her academic journey, Lindelwe has set her sights on studying Actuarial Science and Finance at university. The field combines mathematics, statistics and financial theory to assess risk and manage investments, equipping professionals to predict future financial events and provide solutions in areas such as insurance, pensions and investment planning.
Enjabulweni High School Headteacher, Mathew Kamota, also expressed appreciation to the Ministry for its continuous guidance and support to schools. He further acknowledged the collective efforts of parents, teachers and learners in fostering a culture of excellence within the school.
The Ministry of Education and Training used the occasion to encourage learners across Eswatini to draw inspiration from Lindelwe’s story, urging them to aim high, remain focused and believe in their abilities.
“Excellence is achievable, regardless of one’s background,” the Ministry emphasised, noting that Lindelwe’s achievement stands as a powerful reminder of the rewards of hard work, resilience and determination.
