EZULWINI – As social media continues to shape modern entertainment, Eswatini’s TikTok creators are stepping off the screen and into the spotlight. On Saturday, 3 May 2025, The Destination in Ezulwini will host a special event designed to connect some of the country’s most popular TikTok personalities with their fans for a full day of engagement, entertainment, and inspiration.
While this event is being promoted as a one-of-a-kind experience, it builds on a precedent set in 2022, when a similar gathering was hosted at Solanis by Lethokuhle Masilela. Mduduzi Dlamini, Club Promoter at The Destination and this year’s event organizer, was also involved in that first edition. Now, he returns with a fresh vision aimed at expanding the reach and recognition of local content creators.
“I was part of the first TikTok party in 2022, and I’ve always believed our local creators deserve platforms like this,” said Dlamini. “The idea behind this event was inspired by how international creators connect with their followers off-screen. It’s about offering our own influencers that same level of recognition and opportunity.”
More than just a social gathering, the event is positioned as a Launchpad for professional growth. “We’ve invited a few brands who are eager to meet and possibly collaborate with local creators,” Dlamini explained. “For many, this isn’t just a party—it’s a chance to grow their platforms and explore potential sponsorship or partnership deals.”
He added that the event could serve as a motivator for aspiring content creators across Eswatini. “It’s a chance to learn, be inspired, and gain confidence. Our local content creation space is expanding, and this event is proof that there’s space for everyone to grow.”
Dlamini also hopes to shift public perception of TikTok culture in the country. “There’s still a stigma. Some people don’t see the value in being active on TikTok,” he said. “This is our chance to show the community the creativity, dedication, and potential behind what these young people are doing.”
Beyond fan meet-and-greets, the day promises music, live performances, and opportunities for attendees to create content alongside some of the platform’s most recognizable local faces. A full lineup of guest creators and performers is expected to be announced in the days leading up to the event.
The event kicks off at 11:00 AM and will continue into the night. Entry is E50 before 7:00 PM and E70 after. Cooler boxes are permitted until 6:00 PM for a fee of E100. For convenience, a park-and-ride shuttle service will also be available.
