MBABANE – Hope has arrived for Sehlephi Nkambule, a 58 year-old widow struggling to raise her four grandchildren, as Deputy Prime Minister Thulisile Dladla announced that government will build her a fully furnished two-bedroom house to improve her family’s living conditions.

The announcement was made during the DPM’s recent visit to Nkambule’s homestead at Lohlupheko in the Lubombo Region. The initiative forms part of government’s ongoing mission to uplift vulnerable citizens and ensure that no one is left behind.

The new home will include furniture, a water tank, and fencing aimed at restoring dignity and improving the family’s safety and quality of life.

Nkambule, who lost her husband in 2010, currently cares for her two grandsons and two granddaughters in a dilapidated structure. After witnessing their situation, the deputy Prime Minister expressed compassion and instructed that urgent support be provided.

Speaking on behalf of the community, Chief Jozane Maziya extended his gratitude to Her Majesty the Indlovukazi for her continued care and leadership. “We thank Heavenly God for this blessing. He is the one who planned this day, knowing that such favour would reach this family,” he said.

An emotional Nkambule said she was grateful for the unexpected gesture. “I am speechless,” she said. “But I know that God in heaven understands my heart. This visit by the Deputy Prime Minister and other dignitaries has brought blessings that will never be forgotten.”

The house will be built under the government’s social support programme, which prioritises the needs of vulnerable individuals and communities as part of the country’s national development agenda.
