MBABANE – Culinary industry experts and food enthusiasts.
The sixth edition of the Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestlye Festival has introduced a new aspect for the first time since its inception.
This year, the lifestyle festival will have a debut Luju Food & Fashion Indaba which be held before the actual festival. The Fashion Indaba takes place on August 1, 2024 and the Culinary Indaba on August 2, 2024, both at House On Fire.
This was confirmed by Festival Director Jiggs Thorne. He shared that this would be a dynamic two-day programme of capacity development workshops, insightful panel discussions and knowledge sharing on industry best practices. He said, “This year, we reinforce our commitment towards creative MSME development with a new, innovative and impactful initiative – the Luju Food & Fashion Indaba. “
He went on to add, “The Food Indaba will be dedicated to knowledge and skills sharing among culinary industry experts and food enthusiasts. Participants will include restaurateurs, chefs associations, aspiring and established chefs, relevant industry regulators, health practitioners, food retailers, suppliers and distributors, producers and farmers.”
It is worth mentioning that the Fashion Indaba will be an industry development workshop bringing together various stakeholders in the fashion industry, and players at all levels of the industry value chain to share industry best practices. The interactive panel discussions will feature industry experts from the Southern African region, providing an informative start to the weeks’ range of events and activities.
Thorne advised that they will be inviting creative MSME entrepreneurs in the food and fashion industries to apply for a chance to partake in these exciting programmes. He also shared that more details will be soon be available on their social media platforms for application details.
