MBABANE – Royal Leopard are getting close in clinching the 2024/ 25 MTN Premier League with each game they are playing.
They are yet to lose a match in the MTN Premier League after 19 matches and they will be in action against struggling Mbabane Swallows this afternoon at Mavuso Sports Centre in a tricky clash to kick-off at 5pm.
The Royal Eswatini Police Service (REPS) side goes to the match sitting top of the table with 45 points, a two point’s gap from Green Mamba who is facing Nsingizini Hotspurs at Simunye Sports Ground at 3pm.
Leopard are gunning for their second title this season after lifting the Ingwenyama Cup with a 1-0 win over Moneni Pirates on the finals played on April 6, 2025 at Somhlolo National Stadium.
Mbabane Swallows who are now out of the race with seven games remaining before the season ends are sixth on the table with 30 points and they are from a disappointing 3-1 defeat by Moneni Pirates in their last MTN Premier League match, last Sunday.
Another exciting fixture to be played today will see Moneni Pirates against Manzini Sea Birds in the Manzini derby to kick-off at 7:30pm at the Mavuso Sports Centre. Moneni Pirates made a good return after the 0-1 defeat by Royal Leopard in Ingwenyama Cup as they beat Mbabane Swallows 3-1 and they will be looking forward at keeping up with that good run.
Their Coach Caleb Ngwenya will be pleased to see the team continue climbing the ladder as they are now fifth on the table with 32 points and a win will hand them a chance of advancing more closely to the top four.
Other fixtures to be played today will see a double header at Mkhuzweni Technical Centre were Rangers will take on Illovo and Mbabane Highlanders up against Madlenya at 1:30pm and 3:30pm respectively.
