MALANTI CHIEFS SECURE MTN PREMIER LEAGUE RETURN AFTER THREE YEARS WITH TWO GAMES TO SPARE

MBABANEMalanti Chiefs have officially secured their return to the elite MTN Premier League of Eswatini after a three-year absence, winning against Red Rhinos 0-2 Malanti Chiefs and  clinching promotion with two games to spare in the MTN National First Division. The Chiefs atained an  impressive 46 points, making their comeback to top-flight football a certainty before the season’s conclusion.

The club’s CEO, Dube, expressed immense satisfaction at the achievement, highlighting the dedication shown by both players and technical staff throughout the campaign. “We are very happy with our return to the Premier League. It is not only that, but we are also happy with how the players and technical staff have been committed to bringing the club back to the elite MTN Premier League of Eswatini,” Dube stated.

Dube further revealed that the players themselves are thrilled about the prospect of competing in the Premier League next season. “The players are excited about their return to the Premier League and are looking forward to competing next season and proving that they belong in the MTN Premier League,” she added.

The CEO emphasized that the club’s resurgence was not by chance but a result of a clear mandate set by the chairman and club leadership. “This was the chairman and club mandate to return the team to the top-flight football league after our three years’ absence in the MTN Premier League,” Dube affirmed.

Malanti Chiefs’ journey back to the top has been marked by consistent performances, including being crowned first-round champions earlier in the season, which set the tone for their successful campaign. Their supporters have played a vital role, and Dube was quick to acknowledge their unwavering backing: “Finally, we are back!” she exclaimed, expressing gratitude to the fans for their support throughout the season.

The Chiefs now look ahead to the 2025–26 MTN Premier League season, eager to prove their mettle among Eswatini’s football elite.
