MBABANE – Mbabane East Member of Parliament (MP) Welcome Dlamini has honoured the Lutsango regiment from his constituency with a special gift ceremony. The event, held at the Mbabane East Constituency Centre, was organised to appreciate the regiment’s unwavering commitment to Eswatini’s cultural heritage and their participation in the recent Buganu ceremonies at Buhleni and Hlane Royal Residences.
The atmosphere was filled with joy and celebration as the Lutsango women received various gifts from MP Dlamini. The initiative was a token of appreciation for their dedication in responding to the call of Their Majesties to partake in the traditional event, which holds deep cultural significance in the Kingdom of Eswatini.
As the gifts were distributed, the women of the Lutsango regiment erupted in song and dance, melodiously singing, “Sibonga tandla takho Mhloniswa wase East” (We appreciate your generosity, Honourable of the East). Their expressions of gratitude created a vibrant and electrifying atmosphere, reinforcing the spirit of unity and appreciation among attendees.
Indvuna yeLutsango yase Mbabane East, Norah Ndlangamandla, expressed her profound gratitude on behalf of the regiment. She acknowledged MP Dlamini’s kind gesture and recognition, noting that such acts of appreciation serve as motivation for them to continue preserving and promoting Eswatini’s rich cultural heritage.
In his address, MP Dlamini reaffirmed his commitment to supporting cultural initiatives within his constituency. He highlighted the importance of upholding Swazi traditions, which define the nation’s identity, and encouraged the Lutsango regiment to maintain their active participation in national cultural events. Additionally, he called upon the regiment to help foster a culture of mutual respect and peace, in line with Eswatini’s values. He also expressed his hopes for an end to gangsterism, urging the community to unite against social ills for the betterment of society.
The event concluded with more singing and dancing, leaving a lasting impression of unity and gratitude. MP Dlamini’s thoughtful gesture was not only a celebration of Eswatini’s rich cultural traditions but also an affirmation of the importance of recognising and valuing community efforts in nation-building.
