This 37-year-old Eswatini native is a graduate of the Eswatini College of Technology (ECOT).
He is the creative force igniting the brand’s passion for transforming wood into stunning, functional art. Raised in Siteki by a single mother and his grandfather, Masinga’s journey as a design teacher led him to establish Shobane Wood Creations in 2012, combining his skills with his entrepreneurial spirit.

Like any business, Shobane has faced its share of challenges. Masinga said fluctuating material prices, unreliable transportation, and economic downturns have presented obstacles, forcing the business to adapt and innovate. Despite facing challenges, he remained committed to providing affordable options for a wider customer base. By incorporating low-priced products made from accessible materials, Shobane Wood Creations aims to make quality craftsmanship available to all.
Looking towards the future, Masinga envisions a larger workshop that empowers youth through employment opportunities and vocational training. His dream of educating adults in carpentry skills to support their families reflects his belief in the value of practical, hands-on work in today’s job market.
As Masinga continues to grow Shobane Wood Creations, he acknowledges the need to incorporate sustainability practices into his business model. By exploring ways to navigate economic challenges and meet customer demands, he remains dedicated to creating a lasting impact in his community.
For the youth aspiring to build their careers, Masinga offers valuable advice: focus on acquiring practical skills that offer daily income opportunities. Don’t rely solely on office jobs. The future lies in acquiring practice skills. Whether it is plumbing, carpentry, or any trade, these skills can provide a steady income and a fulfilling career.
