NKOMANZI- In the vibrant music scene of Eswatini, a new wave of talent is rising, blending traditional sounds with modern influences.
Meet Mlandvo Kunene, known as Momotho RKEYNG, born on December 28, 1997, in Jubukweni and grew up in Kancesi and Nkomazi. With a passion for storytelling and a commitment to authenticity, he is not just making music; he’s crafting a unique narrative that resonates with audiences far and wide.
From a young age, Momotho was captivated by the power of music, seeing it as a vital medium for expression. “I joined music in 2016, inspired by KO and local talents like Quick Fling, Teddy Beast, and NKT,” he recalls. This inspiration fueled his desire to create music that not only entertains but also conveys meaningful messages.
Momotho’s artistry extends beyond just hip-hop; he also explores genres like Afro pop and Kwaito, showcasing his versatility. His unique sound is characterized by infectious rhythms and compelling lyrics that speak to the heart of his experiences. “Music is the best way to send important messages, advice, and warnings to the world while entertaining my audience,” he emphasizes, highlighting his commitment to using his platform for good.
Despite his passion, Momotho has faced numerous challenges on his musical journey. The lack of funds for studio sessions and the costs associated with producing quality music have been significant hurdles. “When seeking collaborations, artists often expect payment, which is tough when you’re not making money from your music,” he explains. Additionally, the limited support for local artists in Eswatini makes it difficult to secure bookings with event organizers, further complicating his path.
Momotho’s latest single, “Suka,” is a testament to his growth as an artist. This electrifying Kwaito rap track, recorded at The Real Dandy Ent, showcases his lyrical prowess and unique style. With a captivating beat crafted by the talented Octinnoh and expertly produced by BhuThabiso, “Suka” celebrates the essence of Kwaito culture. “Join us as we blend infectious rhythms with powerful storytelling,” he invites listeners, making it clear that his music is meant to uplift and connect.
As he looks to the future, Momotho is eager to expand his reach beyond YouTube, with plans to upload his music on all digital platforms before the end of December. For now, fans can subscribe to his channel for exciting releases and exclusive content at [The Real Dandy Ent]. “Hit the notification bell so you never miss an update!” he adds enthusiastically.
