MBABANE – Eswatini has achieved a groundbreaking diplomatic victory, with former Minister of Agriculture Moses Vilakati securing a decisive win in the African Union (AU) elections. Vilakati has been elected as the AU Commissioner for Agriculture, Rural Development, Blue Economy, and Sustainable Environment (ARBE), a prestigious post headquartered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

The election results from the fifth round of voting revealed a landslide victory for Vilakati, who garnered 36 votes, leaving his competitor, Tabuna from the Republic of Congo, with only 13 votes.
