EZULWINI – A wave of optimism and empowerment swept through Mahlalekhukhwini House as MTN Eswatini reaffirmed its commitment to inclusive digital growth during Day 3 of the 21 Days of Y’ello Care campaign.
Under the inspiring theme “Connecting at the Roots,” MTN hosted the Tech-Drive Empowerment Seminar in partnership with A Peculiar People Persons, gathering influential voices from government, business, and civil society. The message was clear—digital inclusion is no longer a luxury; it’s a lifeline for progress.
Wandile Dlamini, Head of Business Enterprise at MTN Eswatini, delivered a powerful keynote address. “Connectivity is not just about faster internet,” he said. “It’s about unlocking opportunity, enabling equity, and driving sustainable development.” His words echoed the growing consensus that digital access is essential to national development.
The seminar showcased MTN’s broad range of enterprise solutions—from cybersecurity and cloud services to IoT and unified communications—designed to empower corporates, small businesses, and government institutions alike. Already, SMEs across Eswatini are embracing these tools, transforming how they operate and reaching wider markets through digital platforms such as mobile banking and e-commerce.
MTN’s efforts are also enhancing public service delivery. Through e-government innovations, citizens can now conveniently access essential services like tax filing and ID applications online. In the education sector, platforms like Imfundvo are bridging the digital divide, bringing learning resources to even the most remote schools.
Yet, challenges remain. Dlamini acknowledged the ongoing disparities faced by rural communities and under-resourced youth. But MTN is rising to meet the moment. Through strategic network expansion and the rollout of digital literacy initiatives—such as the Khanyisa App, which offers both learning materials and financial aid—MTN is ensuring that no one is left behind.
“Inclusion is not just a moral imperative; it’s an economic one,” Dlamini emphasized. “The more people we connect, the more innovation and growth we unleash.”
As MTN continues to plant digital roots across Eswatini, its message resounds with hope: empowering communities through technology is the foundation for a brighter, more inclusive future.
