MBABANE – Following a successful Road Injury Prevention Indaba in 2024, Sincephetelo Motor Vehicle Accident Fund (SMVAF) is gearing up for an even more impactful event in 2025.
The parastatal is promising a bigger and better showcase of road safety initiatives, insights, and innovations.
In his closing remarks at the two-day SMVAF Road Injury Prevention Indaba 2024, CEO David Mfanimpela Myeni pledged to host an even larger and more comprehensive event in 2025, building on the success of this year’s program.
The 2024 Indaba focused on understanding and preventing road crashes, managing personal injuries, and legal aspects, while the 2025 edition is expected to delve deeper into these topics and more to further advance road safety awareness and solutions.

Myeni thanked the speakers for their valuable contributions and urged the audience to not just end the conversation there. He emphasized the importance of implementing the knowledge and insights gleaned from the Indaba in the quest to achieve the fund’s vision. Myeni further expressed gratitude towards Prime Minister Russell Dlamini for delegating the invitation to Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg and stressed the significance of the event in realizing SMVAF’s objectives.
Myeni acknowledged the unwavering support of Minister of Finance Neal Rijkenberg, emphasizing that the minister has consistently stood behind SMVAF in its efforts to fulfill its mandate. He also expressed gratitude towards all partners, both within Eswatini and abroad, highlighting that the company’s success would not be possible without their collective assistance. Myeni concluded by noting that SMVAF’s stellar performance was a direct result of the strong partnerships it had cultivated over time.
“The fund is committed to find ways to which we can improve the way we do things. As much as we have the Indaba for us this is an event that has to provide a baseline in terms of how we can forward, ” he said.
He revealed that SMVAF had recently finalized a strategic plan for the next four years, with transformation and innovation being one of the key pillars of the strategy. The CEO pledged that the company would begin preparations for the 2025 Indaba, building upon the learnings and insights garnered from the 2024 event. He emphasized that the 2025 Indaba would serve as a follow-up to this year’s Indaba, reporting on actions and implementations undertaken by SMVAF to address the issues discussed.
