MANZINI- The National Commissioner of Police, Manoma Vusi Masango, has called on the Church and the nation to pray for divine intervention in combating crime during the busy festive period.
Speaking at a prayer service organized by the Manzini Regional Christian Police Association at Divine Healing Ministries, Masango emphasized that such gatherings provide a vital platform for spiritual support in policing efforts.
“The Church plays a critical role in partnering with us to ensure public safety,” Masango said. “We urge the faithful to pray for God’s intervention against crimes such as murder, sexual violence, and other offenses that continue relentlessly.” The prayer service was themed “Partnering with God, Guarding the City and Fighting Crime.”
He highlighted that the Royal Eswatini Police Service (#REPS) will maintain a strong presence in all strategic areas to safeguard the public. “We also urge members of the public to work hand-in-hand with the Police Service during this festive period so that we can ensure a crime and accident-free season,” he said.
The National Commissioner issued a stern warning to criminals, adding, “We will not be compromising. All those found in conflict with the law will be dealt with. The police service will continue to crack down on drug dealing and trafficking without fear or favour.”
Zakhele Free Evangelical Assemblies Pastor, Shodi Msibi, encouraged officers to uphold their Oath of Office with diligence and respect.
During the service, pastors held a special prayer session for national leaders, all members of the security forces, and the nation at large, reinforcing the partnership between faith and law enforcement.
The appeal underscores the importance of spiritual guidance, community collaboration, and vigilant policing in ensuring a safe and peaceful festive season across Eswatini.
