EZULWINI – The Shiselweni Region is beaming with pride as it has been announced that Nhlangano will host this year’s grand celebration of His Majesty King Mswati III’s birthday.

The exciting news was shared by the Minister of Home Affairs, Princess Lindiwe, during the official launch of the King’s Birthday Celebration Logo at Happy Valley Hotel in Ezulwini. The celebration is set for Friday, April 25, 2025, and promises to be a memorable and unifying national event.

The minister extended a heartfelt invitation to all Emaswati to join the celebration in Nhlangano. She also congratulated the people of the Shiselweni Region, especially the residents of Nhlangano, highlighting the many opportunities the event will bring to the local community.

“This is a moment for Nhlangano to shine,” said Princess Lindiwe. “Residents should be ready to benefit economically, as people from across Eswatini and beyond will travel to be part of this joyous occasion.”

The minister emphasized that the event logo represents unity, peace, and prosperity. She encouraged those interested in using the logo to contact the Ministry of Home Affairs’ communications department. Notably, the logo is available free of charge to the public.

Shiselweni Regional Administrator, Themba Nhlanganiso Masuku, expressed his joy and readiness for the event, describing it as an incredible honour for the region. He assured the nation that Nhlangano and the greater Shiselweni area are fully prepared to welcome both national and international guests.

Masuku added that hosting the King’s Birthday celebration is a catalyst for development. “Regions that have hosted this significant event in the past have witnessed major improvements in infrastructure,” he said. “We expect a similar transformation here in Shiselweni.”

This will be the first time in nine years that Nhlangano hosts the birthday celebration. The last occasion was in 2016 at the King Sobhuza II Memorial Stadium, attended by then South African President Jacob Zuma. Nhlangano had previously hosted the event in 2012 as well.

As anticipation builds, the people of Nhlangano are looking forward to making this year’s birthday celebration one of the most vibrant and successful ever.
