MBABANE – Lobamba-born professional golfer Nobuhle Dlamini will be among the 132 players to tee-off in the Investec South African Women’s Open.
The Sunshine Ladies Tour is headed for a thrilling finale at this week’s €340 000 (Approximately E7.1 million) Investec South African Women’s Open to be played at the Erinvale Country & Golf Estate, Cape Town.
There is a of field of 132 players representing 35 nationalities who will be teeing it up in a 72-hole stroke play competition, with a cut to the top 60 professionals and ties after 36 holes. With it being a co-sanctioned tournament, (Sunshine Ladies Tour and European Ladies Tour) the field is made up of 90 LET players, 42 SLT players, and 17 invites.
Dlamini who is representing the country while she is based in South Africa will compete for top honours and a host of prestigious season awards with majority being stars from South Africa’s women’s professional golf and the Ladies European Tour (LET).
Dlamini can win it big in this tournament as this being the final event of the Sunshine Ladies Tour season, the top-ranked player on the Investec Order of Merit at the end of the season will earn a E200 000 bonus.
Should the winner of this week’s tournament be a South African, she will also earn a E100 000 bonus on top of her first-placed prize money as part of the Investec Homegrown Award celebrating South Africa’s talent.
The tournament will also be televised live on SuperSport from Thursday to Sunday.
