MBABANE – Nsingizini Hotspurs will play host to South Africa’s DSTV Premiership Stellenbosch FC in the first leg of the TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round.
This comes after the draw that took place in Cairo, Egypt today (Thursday, July 11, 2024).
Nsingizini Hotspurs secured the CAF Confederation Cup spot after finishing third in the MTN Premier League following the withdrawal of the league runners-up and Ingwenyama Cup Champions Green Mamba.
Stellenbosch FC were crowned the Carling Black Label 2023 Champions and managed to secure the third spot in South Africa DSTV Premiership.
The green and white outfit will kick-off the 2024/25 CAF Interclub season at home for the First Preliminary Round scheduled for August 16-18, 2024 and they will travel to South Africa for the return leg on August 23-25.
The winner of the first Preliminary round will face AS Vita Club from DR Congo, with first leg scheduled for September 13-15, 2024 and the return leg scheduled for September 20-22, 2024.
MBABANE SWALLOWS TO HOST C. FERROVIARIO DA BEIRA IN CHAMPIONS LEAGUE 1ST PRELIMINARY ROUND

MBABANE– The MTN Premier League 2023/24 Champions Mbabane Swallows have been drawn Mozambican side Clube Ferroviario Da Beira in the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League 2024/25 first Preliminary Round.
The draw was conducted today (Thursday, July 11, 2024) in Cairo, Egypt.
Mbabane Swallows earned themselves a ticket to the continental tournament after being crowned the MTN Premier League Champions ahead of Green Mamba, while Clube Ferroviario Da Beira clinched the Mozambican elite division.
Swallows will host the first leg of the first preliminary round that will be played on August 16-18, 2024, and they will travel to Mozambique for the second leg match that is scheduled for August 23-25, 2024.
As means of preparations, Mbabane Swallows will be participating in the Mpumalanga Premier’s Cup that is scheduled for July 20-27, 2024. The tournament, organised by DSTV Premiership side TS Galaxy, will feature Tanzanian side Young Africans (which will also be participating in the champions league), and Augsburg from Germany. Swallows will take on TS Galaxy in the semi-finals.
According to a statement from CAF, the Group Stages are scheduled between October to December 2024. The Knockout Phase and Final of the competitions will be between March – May 2025.
CAF has extended the first registration window for the first preliminary round by couple of days as it will now be closed on July 20, 2024, while it was initially scheduled to end on July 16.
