MBABANE The Only God Knows Charity Organisation (OGKCO), a dedicated non-profit that supports vulnerable children in Eswatini, has received an invitation to attend the Africa Drone Summit 2025, scheduled to take place from June 25 to 27 at The Capital 15 on Orange Hotel in Cape Town, South Africa.

The Africa Drone Summit is one of the continent’s leading technology conferences, bringing together innovators, leaders, and young changemakers to explore how drone and aviation technologies are transforming industries and communities. The organisation’s presence at the summit marks a groundbreaking opportunity for two of Eswatini’s bright young students who have been selected to attend..

The students invited are Thobani Gina, a Form 4 learner from Ezindwendweni High School, and Thandeka Maziya, a passionate ICT learner from Somnjalose High School. Gina’s invention was recently discovered by leaders of the Eswatini National Association of Teachers (SNAT) during a visit to the school to assess storm damage. It was during this visit that Secretary General Lot Vilakati was impressed by Gina’s potential and passion. Thandeka stood out for her exceptional performance and strong interest in Information and Communication Technology.

The  summit offers attendees the chance to; gain access to cutting-edge research, expert opinions, and the latest trends in drone technology , participate in live demonstrations and workshops to see the latest drone technologies in action and build relationships with industry leaders, innovators, and potential partners that could lead to future collaborations.

Jerry Davison, from DronesRAfrica, said the summit aims to shine a light on the positive impact of drone technology in sectors like health, agriculture, and logistics.“When we came across Gina’s story, we thought it would help if he could come and interact with other drone service providers. We are certainly hoping he will have a great time at the summit,” said Davison.Davison further revealed that iTOO Special Risk, a drone insurance provider and one of the summit’s partners, has made it possible for Thobani Gina to travel and attend the event in Cape Town.

“This is not just a trip,it is a bridge to the future for these students and the wider community. We are not just investing in two individuals, we are investing in Eswatini’s potential to lead in technology, said Nkambule , managing director of OGKCO.

OGKCO is currently supporting 27 students with full school fees and has donated complete uniforms to 120 students across the country. Many of these children had been out of school for up to four years due to financial hardship. The organization provides not only material support but also emotional, spiritual, and physical care to help students thrive under difficult conditions.

In support of this mission , OGKCO is appealing for donations of school uniforms, stationery, educational supplies, shoes, toiletries, food, clothing, and financial contributions.:
