MBABANE- From the vibrant streets of Mbulungwane to the electrifying stages of Eswatini, SINTOUR—born Mongi Simelane—has firmly etched his name as one of the most dynamic performers in the Amapiano scene.
A dancer, musician, and MC, SINTOUR has created a unique space for himself in the entertainment industry, blending his passion for dance with an undeniable stage presence. Born in Mbulungwane, in the Shiselweni region of Eswatini, SINTOUR’s artistic journey began in his primary school days.
It was at Ngomane Primary School where he first discovered his love for dance. “I was part of the Kwaito boys’ team in Grade 5, and later, I joined my mother’s gospel group as a backup dancer,” he recalls. But his talents didn’t end there. His journey into the world of music and being an MC began at the University of Eswatini (UNESWA), where he started gaining recognition for his ability to hype up a crowd.
A breakthrough moment came unexpectedly. “I was asked to hold the mic for an event MC who had to step away, but I ended up hyping the crowd,” SINTOUR says, “That’s when the crowd loved it, and SINTOUR MC was born.”
Drawing inspiration from artists like Limpopo Boys and Sir Trill, SINTOUR’s performances are about more than just dancing—they’re a full experience. “It’s about connecting with the crowd, understanding their mood, and giving them what they need to feel the vibe,” he explains.
Despite facing challenges like low booking fees for MCs and slow recognition early on, SINTOUR continues to push forward. His aspirations are set high, targeting major events like MTN Bushfire Festival, Standard Bank Luju Food and Lifestyle Festival, and even international stages like Cotton Fest and Durban July.
With new music in the works, SINTOUR’s journey is just beginning, and he remains committed to proving that Eswatini’s artists can thrive both locally and beyond.
