OWE, MCOLISI SHINES IN MTN PREMIER LEAGUE, FIRST DIVISION IN MARCH

MBABANE – In an amazing display of talent and dedication, Young Buffaloes forward Owe Matsebula and Lozitha Spurs Mcolisi Hlongwane had been recognized as the top performers of the MTN Premier League and MTN National First Division League respectively.

These two players were awarded with amazing prices and cash prizes by MTN Eswatini and the Premier League of Eswatini (PLE) on Thursday (April 10, 2025) during the presentation held at the Sigwaca House.

Buffaloes and the National team player Owe Matsebula took home E6 000 for being the best in March same with Hlongwane who was the best same month and he was presented with E2 000. Presenting the winners was PLE Marketing Communication Officer Lindokuhle Mtfupha.

Matsebula expressed his excitement in his achievements. He stated that he appreciates those who motivated him to push hard.

“I would like to thank my coach because he motivated me to push hard. In his speeches he used to tell me that football is positive and these words kept me pushing and now I am getting the results,” he said.

Mcolisi stated that the award means a lot to him because it taught him patience even though he sometimes felt like giving up.

“This award means a lot to me and I want to thank my brother and my coach who stood by me and motivated me to continue even when It was hard and even felt like giving up,” he explained.

Both Mcolisi and Owe’s achievements highlights the depth of talent in Eswatini. These awards not only acknowledge their individual brilliance but also underscore the competitive nature of both the MTN first division and MTN Premier League.
