MBABANE – Public Accounts Committee (PAC) Chairperson Madala Mhlanga has applauded the Ministry of Home Affairs for the mopping exercise.
Mhlanga is of the view that what is done by the Ministry is in line with Government’s goal of improving global service delivery. This was during the appearance of the Ministry of Home Affairs before the PAC on Monday (July 15, 2024).
According to the PAC, the mopping exercise is kind of service delivery Emaswati need so that they can be known that they exist. Mhlanga said he was pleased with Ministry of Home Affairs Controlling Officer Nhlanhla Nxumalo and his team for working together to ensure that the mopping exercise was successful.
“This helps Emaswati to gain nationality and what is good is that they get it for free,” Mhlanga said.
The committee further encouraged the Ministry of Home Affairs to work closely with the Ministry of Public Service to fill vacant positions within the Ministry of Home Affairs in order for service delivery to be improved.
During the session, Nxumalo informed the PAC that they are stuffed challenges in the Ministry.
“We have challenges with the staff turn-over as it is changing now and then as the Ministry now has a new Principal of Account as the former one had retired on February but we are managing to work through those challenges. ” he said.
