BUHLENI– Eswatini- born Hip-hop artist Phiwayinkhosi Matsebula, known as Paint Omkhulu, is a name you’ll want to remember.
Recently, he secured an exciting collaboration with the South African-based clothing brand Fervent, marking a significant milestone in his burgeoning career. This partnership is not just a stylish collaboration; it reflects the essence of hard work, determination, and the power of believing in oneself.

Securing a deal with Fervent is a monumental step for Paint Omkhulu. “I’m thrilled to have landed this collaboration deal,” he shares, excitement lighting up his face. “It’s something I didn’t anticipate would happen, especially so soon in my career.” This partnership signifies that hard work and consistency can lead to remarkable opportunities. It’s a testament to the notion that talent knows no boundaries, regardless of where you come from.
The collaboration with Fervent not only amplifies his presence in the fashion world but also aligns with his artistic vision. “I’m super grateful to Siseko Sean Simelane, the CEO of Fervent, for believing in me and my talent,” he adds. This partnership aims to elevate both his music career and the brand’s visibility, with plans for potential gigs in South Africa that will help him gain recognition as an artist.

Paint Omkhulu began his music journey in 2015, stepping onto the scene with a passion for hip-hop that has only grown stronger over the years. His early years were filled with experimentation, honing his craft and developing a unique sound that resonates with fans. Collaborating with notable artists like Kidnissy, King G, and Parma, he quickly made a name for himself in the local music landscape. However, it was his rebranding from ‘Starpaint’ to ‘Paint Omkhulu’ in 2023 that truly set him on a new path. “I needed to avoid brand confusion with a paint company,” he explains. This strategic decision showcased his commitment to his artistry and his keen understanding of branding in the digital age.
To celebrate this exciting achievement, Paint Omkhulu is dropping a new track in mid-September, collaborating with Kidnissy and Brainchild. The song, executively produced by Tus Mvuleni, is a testament to his dedication and serves as a celebration of not just his success but also of every creative striving to make their mark.
With his collaboration with Fervent and fresh music on the horizon, Paint Omkhulu is on the verge of something big.
