MBABANE – Despite the fact that Eswatini seems to be winning the fight against HIV/AIDS, Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini has sent a strong warning about HIV/AIDS to the Lobamba Inkhundla residents.

During the tour of the Lobamba Inkhundla Service Centre yesterday (Thursday, August 1, 2024), the prime minister pleaded with the people of Lobamba to restore the dignity of Lobamba by encouraging one another to take care of themselves, so that they could fight the spread of HIV/AIDS.

Dlamini said Lobamba was one of the areas that had many people, as it was one of the country’s hives of activity. He said what was disadvantageous was that when people were many, they had a tendency of being wayward, resulting in their exposure to diseases that could come with being wayward.

The premier further said organisations such as the National Emergency Response Council on HIV and AIDS (NERCHA) had to be available in services centres such as the one in Lobamba Inkhundla. He said organisations such as NERCHA could be helpful in giving vital information to the people, so that they could know how they could protect themselves against HIV/AIDS.

He further said there was a need for some other organisations at the centre, which would educate people, especially the males, on how they could fight gender-based violence (GBV), which has proven to be a problem for Emaswati.
