MBABANE – Minister of Health Mduduzi Matsebula is optimistic that the health system of Eswatini will be revived by next year, especially because Principal Secretary Khanya Mabuza is now involved.
The minister said today (Monday, July 8, 2024) during the appointment of NERCHA’s New Chief Officer (CEO) Dr Nondumiso Ginindza Ncube at NERCHA offices in Mbabane.
Matsebula acknowledged that when he took over as the minister of health, there was a lot that was not going well and a number of issues affected the ministry, but the role that is played by Mabuza had been effective and he had high hopes that the ministry’s ongoing issues would be resolved.
The minister appreciated NERCHA for grooming the PS, as he was doing an amazing job with the Ministry. Matsebula expressed his confidence that in a one to two years, the health system would be bright.
Matsebula acknowledged the role played by NERCHA, stating that when they were attending regional and international conferences they walked with pride because of the amazing work that is done by NERCHA.
He stated that they worked tirelessly to deal with the issues affecting the ministry of health. He stated that as much as they faced difficulties in some areas of the ministry, they worked hard to ensure that many of these challenges were addressed.
NERCHA Board Chairperson Njabu Gwebu highlighted that as the board, they were excited that the company that dealt with HIV AND AIDS in the country worked so hard to make sure that Emaswati were health and are well informed about the HIV and AIDS.
“Today as the Kingdom of Eswatini we are all proud of having strong and healthy people. We have achieved so much in the treatment and intervention of HIV and AIDS and ensured that we create a brighter future for titukulwane kungako sitsi Bayethe Wena Waphatsi” she said.
