MATSAPHA – The vibrant music scene of Eswatini is buzzing with excitement as Diamond Kween, a talented young artist, showcases her versatility with the release of her latest single, “Yini Kangaka.”

At just 20 years old, the Mbikwakhe-born singer, whose real name is Silindokuhle Mdluli, is making a significant impact with this emotionally charged Afro Trap track, which has already received acclaim from fans and fellow musicians alike.

Diamond Kween’s journey in music began in 2014, but she only stepped into the professional realm in 2019. Her latest release marks a new chapter in her artistic evolution, blending authenticity with bold genre experimentation. “I knew a lot of people would relate to this song; it’s something that happens in real life,” she explained. The inspiration for the song came to her spontaneously, as she wrote the entire piece in one night after hearing the beat. The title, “Yini Kangaka,” was chosen to encapsulate the song’s relatable themes.

The track was recorded at Izzycash Records in Mbabane, with production by Izzyboy and a beat provided by her collaborator Richizzyboy. Despite initial concerns about her SiSwati accent and pronunciation, Diamond Kween found the recording process to be smooth, thanks to the guidance of Izzyboy. “It turned out better than I expected,” she shared.

Unlike her previous heartbreak songs, “Yini Kangaka” is delivered entirely in SiSwati and marks her first foray into the Afro Trap genre. This shift in style is a testament to her versatility and ambition for broader recognition in the music industry. Since its release, the lyrical version on YouTube has generated significant buzz, with support from popular Swati musicians like N Kay the Musician, Cool Drop, proRBs, Wess June Ten, and Ace Julz, helping her grow her following on social media platforms.

“The love has been overwhelming. It’s helped me gain many more fans and boosted my confidence,” Diamond Kween expressed. Looking ahead, she plans to release the single on major platforms such as Spotify, Boomplay, and Audiomack, and promises more music is on the way, including collaborations with some of Eswatini’s top artists.

As she continues to evolve and experiment with her sound, Diamond Kween is proving to be a formidable force in the kingdom’s music industry. “Yini Kangaka” is now available on YouTube in lyrical form, inviting listeners to experience her unique artistry.
