MBABANE – As the weekend approaches, Swazi Plaza is trading shopping bags for music, food and nightlife, with its Spring Edition of Swazi Plaza Nights set to bring live performances and DJ entertainment to Corporate Place today from 6:30 pm.
The free-entry event is expected to draw residents and visitors looking for a relaxed way to usher in the weekend, with the Food Court being transformed into an entertainment space where patrons can enjoy music, food and both alcoholic and non-alcoholic refreshments.
The event matters as it creates another platform for local artists and entertainers to connect with audiences in a social setting, while giving patrons an opportunity to enjoy live entertainment without an entry fee.
Swazi Plaza has positioned the Spring Edition as more than an ordinary night out, inviting patrons to experience the Food Court after sunset and make the most of the weekend.
Leading the live music line-up is local rapper, singer, songwriter and producer Ace Julz, whose music is rooted in hip-hop while crossing into other genres.
Ace Julz brings experience from both local and regional stages. He has performed at the MTN Bushfire Festival three times and reached the top three of the Firefly grand finale. His music has also travelled beyond Eswatini through performances in Botswana and airplay on Metro FM, 5FM and Ligwalagwala.
Opening the live performances will be Sanele Shiba, popularly known as Sugar, whose music draws from personal experiences and emotions. Her diary-style songwriting brings an intimate element to the evening, allowing audiences to connect with stories told through music.
Keeping the sound moving between performances will be Uncle Karly, who will take charge of the decks and maintain the evening’s momentum.
The organisers have also brought in Mainstream as host, tasked with guiding patrons through the programme and keeping the entertainment flowing.
The Spring Edition forms part of Swazi Plaza’s wider effort to use its Food Court as a space for social experiences beyond shopping, combining music, food and entertainment under one roof.
With free entry and a programme built around local talent, DJs and refreshments, Swazi Plaza Nights is set to give Mbabane residents a chance to switch off from the week and ease into the weekend.
“What better way to start the weekend than a night like Swazi Plaza Nights,” Swazi Plaza stated, encouraging patrons to make their way to the Food Court after sunset.
The Spring Edition takes place today at Corporate Place from 6:30 pm, with patrons invited to start their weekend with an evening of music, food and entertainment.
