MBABANE- Eswatini’s rising star Sarnilo shines bright, performing alongside music legend Wyclef Jean.
Rising Eswatini artist Sarnilo added a defining moment to her career on September 30, when she performed alongside international music legend Wyclef Jean at an exclusive jam session hosted by Kujenga at The Artistry in Johannesburg.
The performance came shortly after Wyclef Jean’s highly acclaimed set with Lauryn Hill at the DSTV Delicious International Food & Music Festival. Later that evening, Wyclef delighted guests with an impromptu guitar performance, a moment that opened the stage for Sarnilo to step in and create a soulful, unrehearsed collaboration with the Grammy-winning star.
The pair delivered a 10-minute burst of improvisation, blending Sarnilo’s captivating vocals with Wyclef’s signature sound, leaving the intimate audience of artists, tastemakers, and music lovers in awe.
Reflecting on the unforgettable moment, Sarnilo said:

Behind the stage name Sarnilo is Ntando Dlamini, a rising singer, songwriter, and composer from Eswatini who is quickly making waves across the continent. Known for her distinctive fusion of R&B, Hip-Hop, and Afro-fusion, Sarnilo draws inspiration from her Swati and Malawian roots, weaving culture and storytelling into her music.
Although brief, her performance with Wyclef Jean highlighted her growing presence in international creative spaces, where local artistry meets global excellence. With her bold sound and cross-cultural influences, Sarnilo continues to carve a name for herself as one of Eswatini’s most promising voices.
