MBABANE– Sean Cast HQ unveiled his 14-track project DETOUR in Mbabane, signalling a bold creative shift focused on originality, storytelling and musical growth.
The project was introduced through a well-attended listening session held at 23:28, a time the artist said suited both young people and working adults. The approach paid off, drawing a balanced audience and ensuring strong engagement throughout the night. Sean Cast HQ noted that the timing allowed “everyone that was needed to be present” to attend, contributing to a smooth and successful event.
Reflecting on the experience, the artist described the session as fulfilling and impactful. “It was amazing… something that I’ve always wanted to do,” he said. He added that the audience brought “pure divine energy that’s full of love,” with listeners actively engaging with each performance, reinforcing the connection between the music and its audience.
DETOUR represents a clear shift from his previous work, as Sean Cast HQ explores a more personal and distinct sound. He explained that the project “reveals the old me before I got to where I am now,” while addressing a growing concern about similarity in the local Hip-Hop scene. By choosing a different direction, he aims to stand out and offer something fresh to listeners.
