MBABANE – Nkosingphile Myeni, a Self-proclaimed goat-stealer, is seeking assistance from Emaswati to help him stop his criminal activities, which is stealing goats.

In an interview with Eswatini Broadcasting and Information Services (EBIS) today (Friday July 12, 2024) Myeni revealed that he began stealing goats in 2013 due to poverty.

“I stole goats to sell them to local residents, and I have been in and out of jail 13 times, serving sentences ranging from five months to two years,” he explained.

Myeni recently completed a jail sentence, having been incarcerated since 2018 for stealing 18 goats. Determined to change his life, he is now seeking help from the nation to support his transformation.

He expressed his desire to pursue a better path but acknowledged the need for guidance and direction.

Psychologist from Royal Eswatini Police Services (REPS) Praise Thwala commented on Myeni’s situation, stating that his behavior is a result of his upbringing. She noted that since Myeni has sewing skills, Emaswati can help him by providing employment opportunities in that field. Thwala also called upon pastors to offer their support.

“I would advise him to visit mental health facilities, where he can receive an examination and speak to professionals who can guide him in the right direction,” Thwala added.
