MBABANE – Relegation-threatened Sidvwashini United is ready to turn the tables in the second round of the MTN Premier League.

Sidvwashini United will face Moneni Pirates on Y’ello Sunday at Mavuso Sports Centre, with kick-off at 4 PM. Their coach, Chicco Mayisa, said they were ready to give their all in the second round to avoid relegation.

They sit second from the bottom of the log table with seven points after 13 matches. They lost their first-round fixture against the in-form Moneni Pirates 3-0.

Mayisa said losing 6-2 to Nkwene Sundowns in the Ingwenyama Cup round of 32 was embarrassing, but they learned a lesson that has motivated them as they begin the second round.

“We are now focusing on the present and the future. We believe we can get maximum points, starting with the match against Moneni Pirates. I respect Moneni Pirates coach Caleb Ngwenya, as he is like a father to me, having worked under him while I was a player for Moneni Pirates,” he said.

He added that they had strengthened their squad by signing four new players.

Meanwhile, Moneni Pirates coach Caleb Ngwenya said they were not under pressure but were aiming to secure maximum points in every game they play.

“We are still preparing for the match, and we believe that by the time we step onto the field, we will be ready to fight,” he said.

Moneni Pirates are currently fourth in the table with 24 points after 13 matches.
