MBABANE– The Eswatini music industry is celebrating a major milestone following the remarkable success of the “Siyabonga Gogo Remix”, produced by Sancheziey and featuring Lodanda, Young Zesh and the Limkokwing Choir.
Since its release on 19 December 2025, the remix has officially surpassed 100 000 views on YouTube, signalling a powerful moment for local music and cultural expression.
The remix has quickly become more than just a popular song. It has emerged as a cultural statement that honours tradition while embracing contemporary creativity. By bringing together a diverse group of artists from different musical backgrounds and generations, the project has struck a chord with audiences across Eswatini and beyond its borders. The result is a rich, emotional sound that resonates with listeners of all ages.
At the heart of the project is producer Sancheziey, whose vision was to elevate the original song while preserving its cultural essence. He described reaching the 100 000-view milestone as both humbling and deeply meaningful. According to him, the overwhelming support demonstrates that Eswatini’s culture and music have a rightful place on the global stage. The achievement also reflects growing confidence in locally produced music that tells authentic African stories.
One of the most celebrated aspects of the remix is the return of Lodanda to the recording studio. A highly respected voice in Eswatini’s music scene, Lodanda had not released a studio recording since 2015. Her powerful and emotive performance adds depth and nostalgia to the song, marking a significant and welcomed return for longtime fans.
The Limkokwing Choir adds a distinctive spiritual and cultural dimension to the track. Sancheziey revealed that the idea to include the choir was inspired by their performance at a Limkokwing University graduation ceremony. Moved by their harmonies and emotional delivery, he felt their voices deserved to be captured in a professional studio setting. Their contribution gives the remix a choral richness that amplifies its message of gratitude and reverence.
Adding a modern edge to the song is Young Zesh, one of Eswatini’s rising hip-hop artists. His contemporary rap style blends seamlessly with traditional and choral elements, demonstrating how modern African music can evolve while remaining rooted in cultural identity. His inclusion has helped the remix appeal strongly to younger audiences.
The success of the “Siyabonga Gogo Remix” highlights the power of collaboration and the growing appetite for quality local productions. It stands as a proud example of how Eswatini’s artists can work together to create music that is authentic, innovative and globally relevant.
As views continue to rise, the remix serves as a reminder that when tradition, talent and vision come together, the results can be both impactful and inspiring. The achievement not only celebrates the artists involved but also shines a spotlight on Eswatini’s rich and evolving music scene.
