MBABANE – Small businesses in the country are implementing His Majesty King Mswati III’s vision of seeing this country achieving a status of first world countries.

This was said by Prime Minister Russell Mmiso Dlamini yesterday (Friday, August 9, 2024). This was during the Entrepreneur of the Year Awards (EYA) 2024, which took place at Mavuso Exhibition and Trade Centre in Manzini.

He said this when he introduced His Majesty King Mswati III to deliver his speech during the event. Dlamini said Government was grateful to the King for the vision and they counted on micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to actualise that vision.

The prime minister, however, expressed concern that some of the businesses have closed down long after they had opened. He said this threw a challenge on Government to pay closer attention to ensure that businesses were supported.

Dlamini mentioned that small businesses needed to be supported so that they grew to sustainable levels, where they could run themselves. He congratulated the participants in the EYA 2024. He described them as people who showed resilience and were innovative in ensuring that their businesses were a success.

He said these men and women defied all odds to make sure that they were successful. Because of that, the prime minister stated that it was important for them to be recognised before everyone and be encouraged to improve in their trades.
