MBABANE – Eswatini is poised for potential growth in its petroleum and mining sectors following a high-level engagement between the Minister of Natural Resources and Energy, HRH Prince Lonkhokhela, and a delegation of South African investors.
On February 12, 2025, Prince Lonkhokhela welcomed representatives from Petrosa, Arc Fuels, and Masemanzi Mining Holdings, who visited the country to explore investment opportunities. The meeting focused on Eswatini’s potential in oil and gas exploration, fuel supply chains, and mining operations.
The South African investors expressed interest in understanding Eswatini’s regulatory framework, infrastructure capacity, and available resources. Prince Lonkhokhela emphasized the government’s commitment to attracting foreign direct investment and fostering a conducive business environment.
“These discussions align with our national goals of economic diversification and sustainable resource management,” he said.
While no formal agreements have been announced, the engagement marks a significant step in positioning Eswatini as an attractive destination for energy and mining investments. Further deliberations and feasibility studies are expected to follow.
