MBABANE – Enjabulweni School sports ground will come alive on Thursday when The Special Olympics Eswatini hosts unified sports.
The unified sports are for promoting social inclusion through shared sports training and competition. It joins people with and without intellectual disabilities on the same teams and play sports together.
There are already seven schools that have confirmed that they will be taking part in the event. Some of the sporting codes to be played on the day include handball, netball and football among others.
Special Olympics Eswatini spokesperson Ntombi Nkambule announced the event on Monday.
Some of the schools expected to take part in the sporting event include School for the deaf, St Joseph’s primary, Ekwetsembeni Special School, Ntuthukweni Primary School, Qinisweni primary school, Mbasheni Anglican primary, Balance for life centre and Ekululameni skills centre among others.
Special Olympics Eswatini hosted a dance competition last month that was a huge success with seven schools competing. The event was held at the Zakhele Community Hall in Manzini with parents in full attendance.
